Getting Your Pass and Making the Most of It

Booking and delivery: Your Rome City Pass is valid for the number of consecutive days you choose. It’s easy to book online in English, German, or French, so grab yours early! We’ll send your City Pass and any airport transfer tickets directly to your inbox.

Important: Check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t received an email from Turbopass. You can mark it as “not spam” to ensure future emails arrive. If you’re still having trouble, contact our friendly customer service team for help.

Planning ahead: Book your pass about six weeks before your trip! You’ll receive your documents at least a day before you travel. Last-minute bookings may take up to 24 hours to process.

Exploring the Vatican and Colosseum

Vatican: Select your desired date and time to visit the Vatican when you book. You also have the option of skipping the Vatican if it doesn’t fit your schedule—the pass price will adjust accordingly. Remember to wear clothing that covers your knees and shoulders to enter the Vatican. Security checks are required, even with the City Pass, and “priority entry” is not guaranteed. Be aware of overly enthusiastic salespeople outside the Vatican trying to sell you tickets. Your pass already gives you free access, so head straight to the entrance!

Colosseum (with Roman Forum and Palatine Hills): Choose your preferred time slot for the Colosseum when booking. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes before your allocated time for security checks. You’ll bypass the ticket queue and go straight to the entrance. Your ticket grants you entry to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. You can visit the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on the same day (before the Colosseum) or the day after, regardless of your Colosseum time slot. Children under 18 are not bound to the time on the ticket, only the date, so they can visit the Colosseum anytime on the specified day.

Note: We can’t guarantee specific time slots for the Colosseum or Vatican on your arrival or departure day. To avoid disappointment, it’s best to visit these attractions on other days during your trip.

Additional Perks: Hop-On Hop-Off Bus and Airport Transfer

Hop-on Hop-off City Tour: Enjoy a 48-hour pass on the hop-on hop-off bus, allowing you to explore Rome at your own pace. The bus offers free audio commentary in multiple languages.

Airport Transfer: Your City Pass includes airport transfers between Fiumicino and Ciampino airports and the city center. Enjoy flexible travel days, as the transfer is not tied to your pass’s validity period.

Important Information for Families

Children and teens: Children under 18 sometimes need proof of age (passport or ID) for free entry to attractions. While children do not pay for Colosseum entry, they require a free ticket obtained on-site. Find more information in the “Colosseum” section of your pass appendix.

Opening Hours and Additional Tips

Opening hours: Some museums and attractions may be closed for renovations or on short notice. Many Italian museums are closed on Mondays (except for the Vatican, Colosseum, and tours) and on 25 December, 1 January, and 1 May. The Vatican Museums are closed on Sundays and some church holidays. St. Peter’s Basilica is always closed on Wednesdays from 8 am to 12 pm and on 24 December and 31 December.

Good to know: Rome can get crowded, especially during peak seasons. Be prepared for security checks and potential wait times. The Colosseum has a limited capacity of 3000 visitors, so even with a reservation, you may experience wait times. While the Colosseum and Vatican are major attractions, consider exploring some of Rome’s lesser-known museums and attractions. Your City Pass includes a variety of options for an unforgettable Roman experience!

Your City Pass is your key to a stress-free and cost-effective trip. You’ll save money, time, and hassle compared to buying tickets individually.

Enjoy your Roman adventure!
